Descripción
Beduinische Poesie aus Südtunesien: Gedichte und Lieder im arabischen Dialekt der Region Douz is the result of a decennial of recording, collecting and analyzing poetry as recited and sung by the South Tunisian Bedouin. As an attempt to present a complete picture of the local poetic genres it analyzes men’s as well as women’s vernacular poetry in the South Tunisian region of Douz within its social context. It provides exemplary poems and songs for both genres in profound scientific transcription, a translation that is comprehensible and useful both for Arabists and anthropologists, but also for literary scholars and non-professionals interested in the culture and the orally transmitted poetry of Bedouins. Furthermore, it analyzes content related, formal and linguistic aspects of these poetry genres and includes not only Western secondary literature but also Tunisian primary and secondary sources.
